Elisabetta Cannalis Tomato Sauce
I had such high hopes for George Clooney and his Italian supermodel girlfriend, Elisabetta Cannalis. They have been together for quite some time now, and all signs were pointing to marriage. Did this beauty finally tame the "forever bachelor?"
Sadly, the couple sent out a joint statement yesterday saying they were splitting up. "We are not together anymore. It is very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy."
So what does an Italian super model do now? Move on from heartbreaker George! I guarantee she won't have any trouble finding a new guy. Elisabetta is back in Milan staying with family, and that inspired me to create a classic Italian staple, for a classic Italian beauty.
The Elisabetta Cannalis Tomato Sauce.
You will need:
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 large can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup fresh basil
- 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
Start off by putting the olive oil in a pot over medium/high heat. Drop in the chopped garlic and mix until slightly browned and tender. Add the chopped onions and mix together. You are looking for the onions to become slightly translucent, and then browned.
Add in the tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, sugar, salt, oregano. Stir together and reduce the heat to medium/low. Let the sauce simmer, and stir occasionally.
After simmering for 15 minutes tear in the 1/2 cup of fresh basil. Turn the heat to low, and simmer for as long as you want. I find that it tastes better the longer you let it go for!
And if your into meat sauce....fear not! Break open the casing of a few uncooked sausages, and some lean ground beef. Cook the meat with the onions and garlic. Add the tomatoes and spices, and you are good to go.

The BETTER Britney Spears Frappuccino
Britney Spears has been the former queen of the hot mess express, with the shaved head and less than fit body to prove it.
In a recent article, Spears dished about how she got her body back into pop star shape. The hot mama transformation is on full display in her new video, "I Wanna Go," which premiered today.
Since her new diet and fitness plan has kicked in, she cut back on all sugars, focusing mainly on protein, good fats, and vegetables. She said her one vice is Starbucks Frappuccinos.
I totally get it girl. It's like a milk shake you can get without feeling guilty because it's from a coffee shop, right?
Britney is a fan of any frappe, and if the choice were available, I bet she would take an IV drip of the sugary sweet drink. You saw the star grabbing 2-3 a day in vanilla, caramel, mocha, and strawberry.
Since she doesn't indulge anymore, I have to wonder...Does she ever miss her favorite creamy treat?
That is why I created a figure friendly version of the Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino.
You will need:
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup skim or low fat milk
3 ice cubes
1 packet of Truvia
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tbsp of fat free whipped topping
In a blender mix the berries, milk, vanilla, ice, and Truvia.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into glass, and finish with a dollop of fat free whipped topping.
This tasty VENTI sized drink comes in at about 200 calories. As Good Morning America reports, the real deal from Starbucks clocks in at over 700 calories, 19 grams of fat, and 122 grams of sugar. OUCH!
If you choose my version of the Frappuccino you will never be caught saying, "Oops I did it again."
I hope you're hungry!
Welcome to The Celeb Foodie, and all that is yummy!
I am here to provide you with two of my favorite things: easy "star inspired" recipes, and celebrity news.
As a recent college grad, I have been searching for a platform to mix both of my passions. I thought it would be fun to create celebrity inspired dishes, for the novice cook.
Contrary to popular belief celebrities do eat. Let's be real. The common phrase, "Let's do lunch,"has turned into something way more than just a meal. The lunch has evolved into a meeting place for the Hollywood elite. They dine at fabulous restaurants, and are photographed chowing down on some of the most delectable dishes in the world.
Many stars have also decided to open restaurants of their own. Those little "passion projects," have turned into some of the hottest places to eat. Stars are also jumping on the foodie craze by creating cook books and food blogs inspired by their everyday life.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a trained chef. But, I do love to cook, and try new things. Growing up, I was constantly surrounded by food. Coming from the unique blend of a Jewish-Italian household, I knew I was destine to cook. Watching the women and men in my family create fabulous meals has inspired me to carry on the passion of food. So instead of cooking dishes from the old country, I decided to put a modern twist on things, with celebrity inspiration.
Along with LOVING food, I am a bit pop culture obsessed. I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, and was sort of know as the "entertainment news girl" at my college. I have interviewed celebrities in their natural habitat, (the red carpet,) and keep up with all that is entertainment news.
So along with getting some awesome recipes, you will find out the latest on the celebrity that inspired my creation.
So, are you ready to dish?
